SMOKEY MOUNTAINS MEDICAL MISSIONS

(MANILA, PHILIPPINES)

In the Smokey Mountains in Manila, children live amongst the garbage that is dumped everyday and survival is dependent on scavenging for recyclable products. These children then exchange these finds for funds for food and water. Due to the poor hygienic conditions and undernourishment, these children develop a weak immune system and are more prone to infectious diseases and intestinal parasites.

To solve this health issue, the funds raised by BFF have aided to the research and development of ostrich antibody technology to develop the antibody infused candy. Easily digestible, this antibody infused candy can combat combat relevant diseases such as norovirus, colon bacilli, salmonella and typhoid bacilli.

Along with this antibody infused candy, BFF also provides essential medical care, such as medical check-ups/health screenings, medicine, food and clean water. In cooperation with local partners, Mithing Pangarap Educational Foundations, Inc., BFF hopes to provide every child in Smokey Mountain a chance at an education and the potential to have a better future.
